If I asked you if you were aware of your full potential, what would you say? Would you know the answer? Many of us struggle with realizing our own potential and I personally know this struggle too well. My goal is to guide women in realizing the beauty and potential they have within them, and to encourage them to understand the journey to find their true meaning. It’s the journey itself that can be the most exciting part.

Everyone’s journey in life is going to look vastly different. We each approach health, happiness, and passion in profoundly different ways. Your friend’s way of feeling healthy may look very different from your own – and that’s okay! The beauty of your journey is that it’s yours alone. Finding your own way is the key to achieving the most impactful growth.

If you’re just getting started on a journey – to love your body, embrace life, find happiness, change jobs or whatever change you’re hoping to seek -you may feel a bit lost. I hit a turning point in my life where I felt the need to make major changes in my 40’s and I was motivated but also afraid. Change can be daunting, but embracing this feeling of unease is what helped me to push forward.

Ask yourself: What do I need to do to change?

Start by having an honest conversation with yourself about the goals you have related to your body and your body image. What changes do you want to see? What do you need to do to get there? Think about the things you need to adapt, compromise, or reject in your life to strengthen your relationship with your body and body image. Be ready to let go of the past and take on this new, exciting challenge!

Create a vision, your way

After defining what changes you hope to make, it’s time to brainstorm what small (or big!) things you can do to achieve them. It’s critical to make your list manageable. While it can feel empowering to make a big list of changes and ‘to-dos”, don’t bite off more than you can handle.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Lao Tzu

Create a Journal to record the changes you want to see and design a Vision Board to illustrate them. A Vision Board is a great way to really visualize, imagine, and illustrate the way you want your life to be. Use poster board or corkboard, a scrapbook, or even a wall as a background and fill it with photos, captions, quotes, words, articles, blogs, Pinterest illustrations, goals, and bucket list items. A Vision Board is a powerful tool to clarify your goals and priorities. Don’t analyze anything while you’re creating your Vision Board  – let your soul loose and afterwards, you may discover things about yourself that were waiting to be revealed.

Your journey is yours alone and it belongs to no one else. When you create an action plan, include the things that will make you happy Remember, your journey is beautiful and you are powerful!
