One thing I know to be true is how powerful it is to follow your passion. There have been many times in my life where I was searching for something to be passionate about. Then one day- after embracing health and fitness, better nutrition, and meditation – I realized that my passion was committing to my body and helping women to live more inspired lives. This journey to understanding and embracing my passion was difficult at times. However, my passion is what keeps me motivated!
Passion is an emotion that some describe as driving, fulfilling, and even deeply moving. It’s feeling that everything you’re doing is worth it, even if it can sometimes be tough. It’s the power source inside of you. Being able to identify and pursue your passion can bring you so much joy and meaning. It inspires you to achieve your fitness goals to strengthen your relationship with your body. Have you figured out what your passion is? Are you making the best use of your passion to move ahead? Let’s explore the topic further.
What is my passion?
At first, you may be unsure as to what your passion is. As you grow older and navigate your way through life, priorities change, goals shift, and passions may take on many different forms. A passion is something that needs to be nurtured and developed. Taking your first run with a friend may not feel like something you are passionate about, but as you stick to your goal and deepen your relationship with your body and with fitness, you will see your passion unfold.
Explore and connect
You probably have many talents that you’re already passionate about. Start by exploring these talents and see how you can apply them to your health and fitness routine. If you enjoy reading, try listening to an audio book as you walk or run. If you like to dance on the weekend with friends, why not consider a dance class? Learning new things provides opportunities for you to challenge yourself and continue to grow, while deepening your passions and your fitness routine.
Realize the power of your passion
As you think back on your life, consider all of the things you used to love to do when you were younger – perhaps it was playing high school volleyball, being part of the track team, fishing with your parents, or taking ski trips with your class. Now, how can you revisit and expand on those passions? If you loved it then, chances are you will love it now! This is a great way to supercharge your fitness routines.
As you embark on your journey to embrace a healthy lifestyle, it’s important to consider different ways to reduce your stress and relax. A great way to tap into your passion is through creativity. What are the things that bring you a sense of calm, such as drawing, painting, or cooking? Set aside the time to be creative and to relax and unwind. This will enhance your commitment to love your body and your mind. In life, downtime is critical to being able to push forward.
Mediation is also a great way to increase your sense of peace and to keep you focused on the present moment. Download a free meditation app or listen to a guided mediation Podcast to truly centre yourself. One of my favourite apps is Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s SATTVA Meditation Timer and Tracker, and I set aside 20 minutes each morning for his free meditation, The Journey Within.
Share your passion with others
I love being able to share my passion with others. Passionate people encourage other people to set goals, explore new things, and live a healthier and more fulfilling life. Now that you know what you’re passionate about and what you want to do to get there, spread the word! Encourage others to find their passion and to talk about it, in order to inspire and motivate those around them.
Passion is contagious – I truly believe that! It’s a powerful tool for embracing our own power and creating a better life for others.
