Our Power Source Emotional Fitness Expert and Coach

Born and raised in Toronto, Ruth completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work and went on to train in family mediation, mindfulness-based meditation, and narrative therapy. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the Women’s Counseling Referral & Education Center, and the Narrative Community of Toronto.

Aware of the needs of women and children fleeing domestic violence for a safe and supportive community, Ruth is a founding member of the North York YMCA Women’s Fund, which provides resources for subsidized membership to this disenfranchised group.

Working in the cancer community as a facilitator, psychotherapist and volunteer has given Ruth the opportunity to help marginalized people find their own voices and choose actions based on their personal values. She is an ongoing supporter and participant in the annual Light the Night Walk which is a community-based fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Ruth is a parent living in Toronto with her two university aged “children”. They bring love and challenge into her life every day.
